The Opportunity

The Department of Global Management Studies in the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) at Ryerson University is pleased to invite applications for three (3), one-year Limited Term Faculty (LTF) positions at the rank of Assistant Professor in areas of Quantitative Methods. The appointment shall be effective July 1, 2020, subject to final budgetary approval.
The Department of Global Management Studies consists of 10 full-time, and 7 tenure-stream faculty members. The Department’s strategic vision is to produce global citizens who have the breadth and depth of knowledge to make good business decisions by providing relevant research on important global issues. Our team of experts develop and teach courses related to business environments in key strategic world regions. We are interested in candidates that will contribute to our existing teaching strengths by bringing innovative and diverse perspectives and experiences to the classroom.

Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University (TRSM) is developing collaborative, creative leaders who will drive 21st century business forward while making a positive impact on society. Home to 11,000+ students and more than 250 industry-connected faculty, TRSM is Canada's leading diverse, entrepreneurial business school centred in an urban learning environment. TRSM offers 12 Bachelor of Commerce degrees, a Bachelor of Health Administration degree, a Masters of Health Administration in Community Care, the Ted Rogers MBA, Professional Masters Diplomas, Executive Education courses, and a Masters of Science in Management. This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Ryerson Faculty Association (RFA) (www.rfanet.ca).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage only in the teaching and service duties of faculty members in the Department, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across such activities. The candidate will contribute to our undergraduate programs through teaching and supervision of students.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold an earned Ph.D. (or demonstrate that they are all-but-dissertation (ABD) with final defense date scheduled) in applied statistics, quantitative methods, data science or a closely related field by the appointment date.

In addition, the successful candidate must present evidence of:
- excellence in teaching through a teaching dossier that outlines the teaching philosophy, teaching accomplishments, including experience with course/curriculum review/development, excellent pedagogical practice, sample syllabi and teaching evaluations;
- strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate students;
- commitment to our values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and
- demonstrated ability to contribute to the life of the Global Management Studies Department and the University through collegial service.

Note: Limited Term Faculty appointments at Ryerson University may not exceed a combined total of four years. Applicants with prior Ryerson LTF appointments need to consider this limitation, as it may render them ineligible to apply.
