Assistant Professor, School of Nursing (Thunder Bay Campus)

Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for one tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences. The academic rank of the appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate. The position will commence on August 1, 2019.

The successful candidate for this tenure-track position will have an unrestricted RN license with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold a PhD, preferably in nursing, have at least one graduate degree in nursing, and have a specific area of focus in nursing practice. Consideration will also be given to candidates who are completing a PhD. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of nursing scholarship and a successful record, or promise, of externally-funded research and the ability to develop a vibrant program of research. Applications from individuals with a specialization or interest in family nursing would be particularly welcome.

The School of Nursing has offered undergraduate degrees in nursing since 1965, and has approximately 650 undergraduate students, including those enrolled in a Compressed 3-year BScN or in a 4-year BScN in collaboration with Confederation College. The School of Nursing also offers a Native Nurses Entry Program and is a member of the 9-university Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program. The School of Nursing offers graduate courses leading to a Lakehead University MPH and a Queens University MN degree.
