Tenure-Track Faculty Position - Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education (Indigenous Scholar)

The Faculty of Education is seeking to fill a tenure track position in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogy in Education at the Assistant Professor level, commencing 1 July 2020. This position is restricted to Indigenous applicants as part of Mount Saint Vincent University’s Diversity Hiring Program.
Applicants should hold a doctorate or be close to the completion of this degree. The successful candidate will be from the L’Nu or other First Nations, Inuit, or Metis, and have research expertise and experience working in partnership with aboriginal communities to integrate Indigenous knowledge, culture, and pedagogy into the public-school curriculum. Experience with Treaty Education curriculum development and implementation is required, as well as teaching and research capacities in one or more of the following areas: Indigenous teacher education, contemporary Indigenous issues, Indigenous language revitalization, Indigenous knowledges, or Indigenous art and cultural expression. Knowledge about other agreements with Indigenous peoples is considered an asset.
