The Opportunity

The Department of Human Resource Management / Organizational Behaviour in the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2020, subject to final budgetary approval.

Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University (TRSM) is developing collaborative, creative leaders who will drive 21st century business forward while making a positive impact on society. Home to 11,000+ students and more than 250 industry-connected faculty, TRSM is Canada's leading diverse, entrepreneurial business school centred in an urban learning environment. TRSM offers 12 Bachelor of Commerce degrees, a Bachelor of Health Administration degree, a Masters of Health Administration in Community Care, the Ted Rogers MBA, Professional Masters Diplomas, Executive Education courses, and a Masters of Science in Management. This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Ryerson Faculty Association (RFA) (www.rfanet.ca).

Responsibilities

Adopting an inclusive, equitable and collegial approach, the successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, research and service duties which will include teaching and supervision at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establishing and maintaining a strong, independent research agenda and contributing to the research culture of the department.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or be near completion with a defense date set, in Human Resources Management or a closely related field. In addition, the successful candidate must present evidence of:

- strong research potential (e.g., evidence of an emerging scholarly record, ability to establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program);
- excellence in teaching and ability to contribute to both our AACSB-accredited undergraduate (BComm) and graduate (MBA/MScM) programs, via a teaching dossier that outlines the teaching philosophy, teaching accomplishments, including any experience with course/curriculum review/development, excellent pedagogical practice, sample syllabi and teaching evaluations;
- strong communication and expository skills and a demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate students;
- commitment to our values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and
- an ability to contribute to the life of our department and the University through collegial service.
